Honor Lisle - Habotai

Honor Lisle - Habotai

from 4.50

Honor Lisle* is ivory, cream or ecru depending on your persuasion. It is light, airy and delicious, and quite a long way from 'off-white'.

  • We hand-dye and hand-cut these ribbons in our Somerset workshop

  • Made from the finest habotai silk, to give a soft, flowing effect, with a slight shimmery effect.

  • All dyes are handmade by us using plants we have sourced from the local area, reusing and recycling flowers and garden waste

  • These ribbons are cut on the bias, so drape beautifully

  • They are approximately 1.5m in length, which is a perfect length for tying on a bouquet, but if you require longer lengths you can easily stitch a few reels together

  • Available in 3 widths - 2cm, 5cm, 8cm

  • Supplied on handmade wooden peg, wrapped in tissue, and packaged in a box for protection

  • Perfect for adding a luxurious and romantic feel to your wedding or event

*Honor Lisle (Lady Lisle) was ambitious, strategic and assertive. She owned lands in Cornwall and with her second husband lived in Calais in the 1530s where her husband was the representative of King Henry VIII as Governor of Calais. In the treacherous political environment of the sixteenth century English court she was known as a formidable businesswoman and negotiator, her husband described her as 'to whom I put my all my trust in to be your aid and mine' when she attended Henry VIII's court on his behalf.
