How do I care for my ribbon?

When you receive your ribbon you may need to leave it to hang for a day or so to allow the curl to drop out, alternatively you can iron it gently.

Store away from direct light, so the colour does not fade.

If you need to wash your ribbon, do so in cool water and dry away from direct heat or light.

Can I get longer lengths than 1.5m?

We cut our ribbons on the bias which is what gives them a lovely soft drape, but because of this the maximum length we can cut is 1.5m. If you want a longer length you can easily stitch two lengths together.

What do you dye the ribbons with?

We dye all our silks with natural plant dyes. A lot of the dyes are made from plants found in our own gardens. There are some plants which aren't as readily available so these are purchased as dried material which we can then make the dyes from.

Are the dyes colour-fast?

We use a mordant to fix the colour into the silk, however we cannot guarantee that the colour won't transfer if the fabric gets wet.

Do the colours on the website accurately represent the ribbons?

Due to the way silk reflects light, and the tonal variations in plant-dyed fabrics it's tricky to capture the exact colour of the ribbons but the photos on our website are pretty close to the true colour.

If you are looking to match colours for an event we recommend ordering a sample card.

We dye the silk in batches, and due to the natural process there maybe slight variations of colour between batches so cannot guarantee an exact match, get in touch if you have any queries.

What is the lead time on orders?

All ribbons available to buy on the website are in stock and ready to post out. We aim to dispatch all orders within two working days.

The ribbon I want is unavailable, when will it be back in stock?

Our ribbons are very popular and can sell out quickly, especially during busy periods. But we are constantly working away in the background making more ribbons, so we can usually get them restocked quickly.

Do you offer wholesale?

Can I place a custom order?

We try our best to accommodate custom orders, get in touch to find out if we can help.

Do you ship internationally?

We are based in the UK and at present the shipping options are just for UK & Europe deliveries, but we certainly can ship further afield.
